Great Britain is split into fourteen licence areas. The East of England is one, and the operator of record for it is Eastern Power Networks plc, part of UK Power Networks. We hold that as provisional because our source is a working map rather than the operator's own records.
The company you pay for electricity is your supplier. The company that owns the wires in your street is your network operator. They are usually different, and it is the operator who needs telling.
How to check it in a minute
Two ways, and both beat reading a map.
- Type the postcode into the operator's own lookup.
- Ring 105. Dialling it is free from anywhere in England, Scotland and Wales, and it gets you the operator for your address.
What the form asks for
It is short. The government puts it at around five to ten minutes. You give your name, your email address and the address the panel went in at, and it goes in within 28 days of installation.

Why this exists
The operator needs to know what is connected to its network. Engineering Recommendation G98 was amended in 2026 to cover plug-in solar, Ofgem approved the change on 11 August 2026, and it took effect with the rest of the regulations on 27 August 2026. That same amendment is what caps households at one device.
